New naturally transgenic plants: 2020 update

چکیده

Agrobacterium-mediated gene transfer leads to crown gall or hairy roots disease, due expression of transferred T-DNA genes. Spontaneous plant regeneration from the transformed tissues can produce natural transformants carrying cellular (cT-DNA) sequences agrobacterial origin. In 2019, based on genomic sequencing data, cT-DNA horizontally Agrobacterium were found in two dozen species angiosperms. This made it possible evaluate spread this phenomenon, as well make some generalizations regarding diversity The presented research is a continuation work field. It resulted description new naturally occurring transgenic Aeschynomene evenia C. Wright, Eperua falcata Aubl., Eucalyptus cloeziana F.Muell., Boswellia sacra Flueck., Kewa caespitosa (Friedrich) Christenh., Pharnaceum exiguum Adamson, Silene noctiflora L., Nyssa sinensis Oliv., Vaccinium corymbosum Populus alba L. × glandulosa Moench. previously identified patterns frequency occurrence and general properties cT-DNAs confirmed study.

Fructan as a New Carbohydrate Sink in Transgenic Potato Plants.

Fructans are polyfructose molecules that function as nonstructural storage carbohydrates in several plant species that are important crops. We have been studying plants for their ability to synthesize and degrade fructans to determine if this ability is advantageous. We have also been analyzing the ability to synthesize fructan in relation to other nonstructural carbohydrate storage forms like ...

Transgenic plants in phytoremediation: recent advances and new possibilities.

Phytoremediation, the use of plants and their associated microbes to remedy contaminated soils, sediments, and groundwater, is emerging as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly technology. Due in large part to its aesthetic appeal, this technology has gained increasing attention over the past 10 years. Phytoremediation uses different plant processes and mechanisms normally involved in t...
